Flying Site and Operational Rules

Drafted 7-31-13                     Effective 8-4-13

1.  Landfill/flying site security will be maintained at all times by locking the KAMS access gate, immediately after each passage, with no exceptions for: leaving the gate unlocked for pilots arriving soon, or for those who are following other members out, "in just a few minutes". It is our duty to ensure that no non-KAMS member related traffic from Seaman Rd. is allowed access to the landfill via the designated KAMS access gate. (ie. No utility trucks or other vehicles should ever be allowed to enter the KAMS access gate, no matter what reasonable rationale may be given). Refer anyone seeking landfill admittance to the main landfill gate/staff.

2.  KAMS club members should always use the main landfill gate during normal landfill operating hours; not the KAMS access gate Note:  Upon landfill entry, If road conditions from the main landfill gate to our field-access road will prevent passage (ie. severe ruts/mud/standing water), then simply notify the landfill check-in attendant that you will be using the designated KAMS gate to access/exit the field instead.

3.  Flying model aircraft over: landfill employees, civilians dumping rubbish, or over homes, is strictly prohibited.

4.  Members are to never fly alone.  Bring a fellow-pilot, friend, or other (human) spectator,  as a precaution against any unexpected medical issues/injuries that may arise at the field.

5.  Landfill rubbish piles (of any type) are not to be explored or altered in any way by club members.

6.  Dumping of club refuse should be limited to KAMS's field-side garbage cans, and the cans should only be emptied via the standard landfill protocol, only during landfill operating hours, as directed by on-duty landfill employee(s).
